KEFALONIA

assss

Kefalonia is considered to be one of the most beautiful, unspoilt islands in the whole of Greece. It is blessed with pretty villages, friendly locals, delicious food and wine, and amazing beaches. Kefalonia took its name from the mythical being “Kefalos” who was the ancestor of the race of the Kefalides in Attica and the first King of Kefalonia.

Kefalonia has been voted the tenth most beautiful place in the world and it’s not difficult to see why: The beaches are as close to paradise as you can ever imagine and each little village seems prettier than the last. The island has no high-rise resorts, no noise, no pressure – this really is holiday heaven!

MORE ABOUT KEFALONIA

The village of Karavados is located in an excellent position being only 10 kms from Argostoli (the capital) and 15 minutes drive from the airport.

However, a car is really recommended if you wish to explore this varied and wonderful island. Don’t just stick to the more famous names of Myrtos, Platis Gialos and Xi beaches, but explore further and, in just a few kilometres, you will discover many new, not so well-known spots that are just as beautiful and unique.

This idyllic island has so much to offer you!

Traditional villages, picturesques churches and ancient hill-top monasteries.

Multi-hued stalactites and stalagmites which fill the cool caverns of Drogarati, while the sunlight creates ever-changing colours on the subterranean lake of Melissani.

Loggerhead turtles nest on the island’s southern shores and rare birds flock to the Koutavos lagoon in Argostoli….

In fact, nobody can feel bored in Kefalonia
